Dr. Dre's Detox Set for Feb, Video for 1st Single, "Kush" Hits the Web

In what is being hailed as the most anticipated album release in hip hop history, reports are saying Dr.Dre's "Detox" will eventually get in stores next February, 2011. Then again, this album has has been delayed so many times in the preceding decade, that it's surpassed all other long awaited albums in other genres, possibly making it the most anticipated album in music history!

So who actually knows if it's true? But eventually we take some good tidings to report! We make possible proof that in February we leave all be blessing our ears in what we hope won't be the most disappointing album ever. Dr.Dre has released a new video!

After Dre's track, "Kush" was leaked on-line, his label decided the call was honest enough to be the low one and video. Great video, not the greatest song, but we'll alive with it.

The video features Dr.Dre, Snoop Dogg and Akon, rapping around women and money and spirits all frozen in time, later on Dr.Dre sets off the sprinklers with his light and gets all the girls wet who go from frozen to dance in slow motion, nice! It is directed by Joseph-Kahn (Eminem, "Without me", Lady Ga Ga "Love Back" and 50 Cent "Ayo Technology") and takes rap videos up a notch. Check out the picture below.

Kush - Dr.Dre feat. Snoop Dogg and Akon

RezXTRA Rating: 3 leafs out of 5 leafs - This course is just okay, but thanks to iphones, youtube and smart phones, everyone who sees the picture before they see the call will remember it's another dope ass Dre song, but it's not. It's just okay, but one that will turn on you and give to have it.

DETOX LEAKED TRACKS

This past year, various tracks were leaked from the album, due to hacking. Some of these leaks included about disappointments and some just okay, nothing that actually stood out. Check out those tracks out yourself:

Under Pressure - Dr.Dre feat JayZ

RezXTRA Rating: 3.5 beat of 5 beats - Look like he's trying to outperform Will.iam. and Timbland I think. But for a low single, I would have chose this one, not "Kush".

Turn Me On - Dr. Dre feat. Nicole from the *** Cat Dolls (because we cant turn her last name lol)

RezXTRA Thought: 2 *** Cats out of 5 *** Cats - Nice beat, just okay. Horrible rating system lol

Popped off - Dr.Dre feat T.I.

RezXTRA Thought: 3.5 TIs out of 5 TIs - Not a bad track, reminds me of his first single, "Dre Day" from his first album, "The Chronic", but a 2011 version. Originally, this was meant to be a duo, but Dre used alone the measure of the cross for a Dr.Pepper commercial, so it didn't get released as a single.

AND NOW.WE WAIT.FOR 'DETOX'

Unfortunately all these tracks won't be on the album according to Dre. But perhaps that's a serious thing. Dre has said, aside from "Kush" it will be all new music never heard before.

So now that you've heard the sneak peek of what could have been on the album and the low single, is it good to say we might be up for a big disappointment? Or is Dre really really saving the best for last? Many music artists and industry insiders, like Lil'Kim, The Game, JayZ, Le Roux, 50 Cent, Snoop Dogg, Eminem and Jimmy Iovine make all spent time in the studio during the making of "Detox" and have all said, "it's like nothing you've always heard before".

Then again, so was the Black Eyed Peas last album, "The E.N.D." which basically was techno infused with some rapping and autotune, that's all. A lot of hip hop heads hated it and mainstream audiences loved it.

So if this album is meant to sell millions like "The E.N.D.", then does that means "Detox" is meant for the people instead of the true Dr.Dre fans? Regardless if this album turns out to be another classic or not, you own to inquire around the song content. What does a 45-year old hip hop producer, who has long moved from the streets of Compton rap about? Apart from the green (Kush) and glamorous suburban lifestyle, how do you link to the streets?

Maybe in today's music industry that doesn't matter anymore. Maybe, it's all around the hook, the beat, the song title and if it makes a full ring tone?

Can Dr.Dre relate to a new digital generation that has grown much faster since Dr.Dre's final album was released in 2001.

All questions that Dr.Dre will do when Detox finally arrives in stores February 2011.

Or flush if it comes at all.
